Anyone else around here have lapband on the 24th and interested in chatting more? Just might be nice to have someone to talk to in the same boat!
Topic: RE: Feeling Sick all the time
I am sick all the time too whether I eat/drink or not. I just can't win. In my case I have had several strictures so if you can't keep anything down talk to your surgeon.

Topic: RE: thirsty!!
Oh! I am so happy to read this post and hear that others struggle with this!
I suffer from Pseudotumor Cerebri and was on a strong diuretic pre-surg. Prior to surgery, I would probably easily drink 140-160 oz of water a day. I stopped the diuretic a few days before surgery and since they don't want me to get dehydrated, they have asked me to stay off of it and go for weekly opthalmolgic visits to watch my eye pressure to see if I can continue to stay off of the pills without damage to my vision.
Meanwhile, I am still thirsty so much! Everytime I put the water to my lips I want to just gulp gulp gulp.... But I have to tell myself NO! I have taken in too much water on 3-4 occasions now and boy, that is something to avoid!
I can't wait until my pouch can hold more water.............not food!

Topic: RE: Post-Surgical Depression
Oh boy - did I ever.
I would cry all the time after the first 3-4 days. I was stuck at home, by myself, lonely, and if I turned on the TV it was all commericals about my favorite foods. The thing that annoyed my the MOST was that I was craving a chicken salad or nice turkey breast or something nice and healthy and I couldn't even eat healthy stuff - NOT FAIR...... At least, that is where I mentally went with that thought. Now, it is easier because we can eat more variety, but I still do get a little depressed when the food I was eating was good and I can't finish what I put on my plate.
The other thing that helped me was seeing the actual weight loss. The thing that didn't help was when I plateaued for a few days due to dehydration. I didn't see any weight loss (no instant results) AND I wasn't eating what I was craving and when I did eat I was nauseated.....ARG
Hang in there..............it gets WAAAAY better. I just had to take it day by day and minute by minute. I also had to remind myself of all of the good stuff. For example, when I got lonely and bored and tired of 'recovering'.....I would sit and play a video game and tell myself to think about all of the poor saps at work right now while I am playing a video game!!
Take care!

Topic: RE: Cant sleep lying down yet????
I am a stomach sleeper (side sleeper is second choice), but I was so uncomfortable the first night that I was almost crying to go back to the hospital and sleep in their awesome adjustable bed. Regardless, I toughed it out and have slept in my own bed since the first night home. Although, I did have to have my husband get up and help my sit up to get out of bed everytime I had to pee or get up - but he was awesome and never complained. I now sleep on my stomach and I sleep VERY comfortably. I still do have soreness on the left side of my abdomen, but it is workable. ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/happy.gif)

Topic: RE: shrinking feet
So it really does happen??? I hoped it might because I was up to a size 11 and having problems finding shoes to fit pre-surg. Just yesterday, I was thinking that my shoes felt loose and I was JUST hoping that they were shrinking.... :)
Congrats to you!
Congrats to you!
Topic: RE: one month surgiversary!
My one month is coming up on the 24th! I got a VSG. I'm doing great except that I can't quite understand portioning yet and I'm still weak. I'm back to work full-time next week. Congratulations!
